A couple weeks after Jaylene and Ricky's heart-to-heart, they started dating behind Jaylene's dad's back. Things between Bryan and Ricky got worse as Ricky and Jaylene were walking in the park. They ran into Bryan. "Jaylene," Bryan started, "you know you love me, so why not stop playing hard to get and trying to make me jealous. It's working quite well." Bryan was walking toward Jaylene with every word he said. As he got closer, she backed away. Then, Ricky stepped between them, and Bryan pulled out a knife. "I'm warning you, Alvarez. If you try to stop me from getting to Jaylene, you're going to pay for it: with your life or Jaylene's." Ricky was kind of scared, but it wasn't noticable. "Try to hurt Jaylene, you have to go through me first," Ricky said as the blade of the knife Bryan was holding glinted in the sun. "Oh, I intend to," Bryan replied. Jaylene was so scared at this point. Before she could say anything, Bryan dropped the knife and Ricky and Bryan started pounding the living daylights out of each other. She couldn't take it. "You guys, STOP! Please! I am so not worth it! Please!" She started crying. Bryan said, "You're worth more than you know, Jaylene!" Jaylene screamed, "NO, I'M NOT!!". Then Ricky spoke up with the little breath he had between punches, "Remember what I told you, Jaylene? I'd die for you, Jaylene!" "Ricky, NO!! Bryan, STOP!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. "Dying? That could be arranged Alvarez!" Jaylene knew all Ricky would sacrifice for her, but she loved him so much. "Bryan, if you want to kill Ricky, kill me in his place!!" "I'd never hurt you, Jaylene!" "Jaylene, take that back!" Ricky screamed. Then, Bryan and Ricky stopped fighting. "I'll be back, Alvarez!" He picked up the knife, and walked away. "I was telling the truth. I'd die for you, Jaylene! If it means keeping you safe, I'll do anything," Ricky said, comforting Jaylene. "Let's hope you never have to..."
